Open roles right now · from peer consultancies and agenciesOpen roles look like this: skills, dates, day rate. The company behind each one stays hidden until you match.

Projects come in waves. Your headcount doesn't.

So every consultancy is overstaffed on one skill and short on another, often in the same month. A benched consultant still costs a full salary and bills nobody, while the profile you're missing sits on another consultancy's bench. Professional services firms, IT consultancies among them, billed 66.4% of available time in 2025, the lowest SPI Research has recorded, against the 75% SPI considers optimal.

Illustrative chart of an IT consultancy's capacity: project work rises and falls in waves while headcount grows in a straight line. Where work dips under the line the firm is overstaffed, with consultants on the bench; where it rises above, the firm is understaffed, with work it cannot staff.
Illustrative. One consultancy's bench is often another's missing profile.
How it works

One membership. Both directions.

See the full walkthrough

Two minutes

List your bench, post your needs.

Add the consultants between projects and the roles you can't staff. Skills, availability and rates go live; your company name stays hidden.

Browse or be found

Browse the whole network.

Search open roles from peer consultancies and agencies, and consultants available on peer benches. Matching roles also come to you.

One click

Match and deal directly.

Send a match request or accept one. Once both sides say yes, you're introduced and agree rates and the contract directly. We take nothing from the deal.

What changes the day you join.

When you're overstaffed, your bench earns. When you're short, peer benches staff you. One membership covers both.

Idle time becomes invoices.

You already pay the salary. Every match puts an invoice against it, at your rates, on your contracts.

Staff projects from peer benches.

Missing a skill? Bring in a consultant from a consultancy that has one free, at an agreed day rate, with no recruiter margin.

Your people and your clients stay yours.

You hire a consultant out at a day rate. They stay your employee, and your client stays your client.

Invisible until you say so.

Skills and availability are live; your name is not. No competitor learns your bench size, no client learns your rates.

What's bench for you is exactly what another consultancy is looking for. BenchBee is where they find each other.

Before you list.
The awkward questions first.

Will competitors see my bench?

Skills, certifications and availability go live; your name does not. Nobody sees your bench size. Another member sees your company only when you send them a request or accept theirs.

What stops someone poaching my consultants?

Nobody can contact your consultants, ever. Requests come to the company, you see who is asking, and a conversation only exists after you accept. The consultant stays your employee, and any NDA or non-solicit terms are agreed on your paper with the other side.

Why are recruitment agencies on the network?

They bring the jobs. They cannot browse your bench or message you, and their margin is already priced into each posting, so the day rate on the card is the rate you bill. You only hear from an agency after you chose to reach out and they accepted.

Do you take a commission?

No, and on purpose. A percentage would give us a reason to push day rates up and favour the most expensive profiles. A flat membership means we gain nothing from what you charge: if you bill £50,000 through a match, £50,000 stays yours.

Can we staff our own projects too?

Yes, on the same membership. Post a project need and match with employed, vetted consultants from peer benches who are listed as available.

Who else is on the network?

IT consultancies, each checked against Companies House or the local equivalent and welcomed with an onboarding call, and recruitment agencies that specialise in IT. Agencies can post jobs; they cannot browse the network or contact anyone.

What if nobody wants my consultants?

Then you have paid nothing. We cannot promise a match, so the first 3 are free, with no time limit and no credit card. You pay the membership only after you have had 3 matches.

Is BenchBee a recruitment platform?

No. We are not a job board, a freelance marketplace or LinkedIn. We connect companies, not people: your consultant stays employed by you, and the deal is between two companies.

Your bench is single. Let's get them matched.
